One man’s drink is another man’s poison

Rory Curtis and Andrew Dwyer were entrusted with carrying the Craic Commando’s baton today (the other three start tomorrow) and they are having very different days so far.

Andrew is seated at a table with Mark Teltscher, the ultra aggressive runner-up for the EPT in Barcelona. On a jack-high flop Teltscher pushes his short stack all-in. Andrew made the call with KJ but was less than happy to see that Teltscher wasn’t bluffing this time. Teltscher’s QQ held up and Andrew is now down to 3.5k.

Rory Curtis on the other hand appears to be very much a ladies man. In the first hand after the break, with the blinds at 75/150, Rory raises to 600. He gets one caller. On a flop of KJ8, Rory pushes all-in for 6.9k. His opponent thinks for an age before making the call and flips over… QQ!. The turn and river make no difference and Rory is now sitting on a nice little stack of around 15k.

There’ll be no rest for the wicked though - Dave Colclough has just sat down beside him!

Meanwhile Irish Open champ Marty Smyth seems to be enjoying the life of a poker superstar, supping back on pints of Guinness and having a laugh with everyone who passes by!

Donnacha O’Dea, however, will have to enjoy his pints at the bar as he has been felted already.

(Felted, by the way, is a term for losing all your chips… and is nothing to do with being groped)
