Myself and “Bad Beat Ryan” made a visit to the Sporting Emporium in Dublin last night to show off our live tournament skills and you’ll be glad to know that we both made the final table… from 16 players!
I finished 9th having donked off all my chips making a call on a King-high board with pocket Queens… it turned out to be a bad decision - of course he had a king!
So the Paddy Power Poker hopes rested with Bad Beat Ryan (so called because most mornings he arrives in to work complaining of some outrageous misfortune that lead to his 34 offsuit been run over by someone with pocket Aces). True to form Ryan huffed and bluffed until he blew his own house down, crashing out in 5th place, two places short of the money.
So there you have it, we both suck at poker… but at least I got to bed earlier!
