The start of the Irish Masters is only two hours away, and people are already starting to gather in the tournament hall here at Citywest. Of course, the fact that Andy Black, the ‘Mad Monk’ of poker, is giving a poker workshop at 12.30 may have something to do with it!
I’ll try to get a list of the notable players who secured tickets last night in our Super Satellite; one thing I can tell you that from the looks of things, when play ended after the field was reduced to 48, Norwegian pro Trond Eidsvig was the big chip leader with a really massive stack! He’s one of the favourites for the Irish Masters so we’ll do our best to track his progress later today.
