Phil Baker has been the somewhat unlucky player to have final tabled the Irish Open but not get to play on the feature table. He’s finished the event €37,400 better off but will obviously be sorely disappointed to not have had the chance at a deeper run.
The final hand saw Lee Brooke-Pearce raise from mid position and Phil Baker pushed all-in. Action came back to Lee and he just shook Phil’s hand as he called with the bullets. Phil had AQ and despite getting some help from the 5-9-Q flop the turn and river bricked.
We’re currently getting chipcounts from the remaining players so we’l have them up as soon as possible.

The ladies event is starting to get down to the business end with 19 remaining! It is no suprsie to see Vera Duffy still there. She is just under an average stack of 25k. Padraig Parkinson’s significantly better half Veronique Gourdon is also is in the hunt with 27k. My tip for the title Sarah Smith of Jackpot fame is going very well with twice the average.Saying that Sarah is well capable of getting rid of chips with great ease, especially if the lure of the bar overcomes her!She looks focused and I think she will be there come the final table!
The Main Event may have ground to a halt for the night, but the €1,500 side event remains in full flow with 81 players still battling it out. Among them are the likes of ‘Mad’ Marty Wilson, Marc Goodwin, Liam Flood, Neil Channing, Dave Colclough, John O’Shea and EPT winner Julian Thew. Blinds are currently at 300 and 600, and 24 will be getting paid, although everyone has their eyes firmly fixated on that €98,000 first prize.

There are 20 players left in the €300 NLH Ladies side event (sorry, don’t have player names) and 85 left in the €1,500 NLH Freezeout. 1st prize in the €1,500 event is €98,000, well worth the effort! I notice that Liam Flood, Mark Goodwin, Neil Channing and Andy Black are still there, with Jamie Gold very healthily stacked.
