The much anticipated first leg of the paddypowerpoker.com UK Poker Tour rolled into Edinburgh's impressive art-deco Gala Maybury Casino on a sunny but crisp early autumn evening on September 28. So much anticipated that the event had sold out the day before, reaching the 120 capacity in record time.

Former World Snooker Champion Stephen Hendry had even registered days before the event and one online qualifier, Martin Dunne, travelled from Co. Meath in Ireland to play.

The atmosphere was typical Paddy Power Poker, irreverent banter and drinks-a-flowing and when the dust settled at 4am, cardroom regular John McCombie took down the title before scuttling off home for a quick shower before heading to work at 6.30am. Legend!
